Welcome to Maldon Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website maldonvehiclehire.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services you accept these Terms.

1. Maldon Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals arranged through Maldon are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. The Rental Agreement sets out the terms, conditions, insurance cover, charges and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Maldon Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Maldon, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid photographic identification and proof of address as required by Maldon and stated in the Rental Agreement.

3. Maldon Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Maldon location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and security deposit are typically due at vehicle collection. All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Pickup and Return

  • On collection from Maldon, inspect the vehicle carefully and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both you and the Maldon representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage discovered on return will be assessed and charged to your account.

5. Maldon Insurance and Liability

  • Maldon includes basic third-party insurance with every rental. The Rental Agreement sets out full coverage details and the applicable excess amounts. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. We recommend reviewing these options and the related terms carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount shown in the agreement.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

Cancellation and amendment policies at Maldon differ by booking type and notice period. Refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for specific details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.

7. Disallowed Uses

You must not use a vehicle rented from Maldon for:

  • Any illegal purpose or activity involving Maldon vehicles. Racing, rallying, off‑roading, or other hazardous activities with Maldon vehicles. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials in Maldon vehicles. Sub‑letting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers to operate Maldon vehicles. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when operating a Maldon vehicle. Purposes for which Maldon vehicles are not designed...

Breaching these restrictions may result in immediate rental termination and additional fees.

8. Limits on Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Maldon will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the total fees paid by you to Maldon for the services in the twelve months prior to the event that gave rise to the claim.

9. Maldon Law

These Terms for Maldon are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Revisions to Terms

Maldon may revise these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on this site. Your continued use of Maldon services signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
